Twitter making it easier to shop

Twitter is testing product and place pages to drive more e-commerce. The feature organizes tweets on dedicated pages which feature images and video of the product along with description, price and an option to buy or visit the website for more information.Twitter1

“Every month, millions of people Tweet about what they love: products they buy, places they visit, books they’re reading or vacations they’re planning. But it can be challenging to find and engage with the most relevant Tweets, images and videos about products and places when you’re looking for them,” product manager Amaryllis Fox wrote in a blog post.

Twitter is also experimenting with collections created by celebrities or brands such as picks from Demi Lovato or from Games of Thrones fans. The move comes after the San Francisco company began putting a “buy” button on tweets last fall and as it comes under growing pressure from Wall Street to grow revenue and widen its appeal.
